The direct objective of the project is to increase the meaning of culture and tourism in connection with intensification of national and foreign tourism in Głogów. Within the project, there are plans of organizing and promoting 3 cultural events.
Two of them will be held in the historic heart of Głogów - the Old Town, whilst the Głogów International Jazz Meetings - in the recently modernized Community Centre "MOK".
Beneficiaries of the Festival of Cultures will mainly be the youth.
The Głogów International Jazz Meetings will attract Polish and international funs of that sort of music (students, adults).
St Nicolas’ Days - Głogów’s patron - will enable the town to promote family values and multigenerational integration. During the event, following the model of Poznań "St Martin’s Days", local cuisine will be popularized (e.g. Głogów sausage, hawthorn wine etc.).
The number of participants of the above mentioned cultural events is estimated at 10 000 (in total), at least 10% foreign tourists inclusive. Thanks to the promotional actions of the cultural events, the new Internet web site "Głogów for four seasons", created specially within the project, will be visited by at least 3000 persons monthly.
An important factor influencing Głogów’s image is its participation in tourist fairs both throughout the country and abroad. Within the project, in the first year of its realization, at least 1 permanent workplace in a service branch will be created.
So, all planned within the project activities are perceived as essential stimuli of Głogów’s balanced economic development. As a result of the project, Głogów’s cultural offer and its availability will be improved.
