About the municipality

Głogów is a city of 68,000 inhabitants located in the northern part of the Lower Silesian Voivodship in the Legnica-Głogów Copper Belt, with an area of 35.11 km2. The main sector of the economy is copper smelting. The economic potential of the city is concentrated in KGHM S.A. The Głogów smelter, as well as in the strongly developing SME sector..

In order to create an alternative to industrial monoculture and counteracting unemployment, the Legnica Special Economic Zone was established in 1997, covering a total of 1071 hectares in 15 sub-zones, including Głogów.

The city is friendly to the business environment. Low fiscalism means strong companies. Specially for business, we have reduced taxes on transport and rainwater and introduced real estate tax reliefs. In terms of attracting foreign investors, we closely cooperate with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency http://www.paih.gov.pl/dlaczego_polska. We also support companies through business-related institutions under agreements with Dolnośląski Fundusz Rozwoju sp. z o. o. and DAWG Sp. z o.o.
We also provide employers with well-educated and motivated employees through extensive vocational education. It is important to stress the good cooperation between schools and business within the framework of the patronage classes.
We are growing in strength. We are successively increasing financial outlays for the development of the city. In 2015 it amounted to PLN 29,235,615, and in 2018 the amount of PLN 73,169,731 is planned, which means that we create convenient urban infrastructure in the form of roads, kindergartens, schools or recreational zones.
Our idea is to make Glogow a modern and wise city, that is a city of people achieving high quality of life and economic progress.
